About the song
A love song that refuses to hurry.
“Sweet Like Toffee” is Black Toffee’s signature song and the line that named her: sweet like toffee, dark like the night. Over a log drum and highlife guitar, she tells someone who came for sugar to slow down, because some things are better felt than rushed. The hook turns on one image, toffee that melts slowly on the tongue, and the bridge is a single word repeated: melt.
The song was released on 30 September 2026 through DistroKid to Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, YouTube and the other platforms. On 9 October 2026 an afro house version followed, at 120 bpm with piano and kalimba. Her next single, “La mer me connaît”, moved to afro soul in French with a bridge in Ewe.
Black Toffee is a virtual artist from Lomé, Togo. Her voice, music and face are generated by AI, and this is declared on every release and every video. The words are written by a human hand.
